W 263 abcd

Sable round brushes, colours and paper:
n.10 Raw Umber (unused)
n.5 Burnt Umber
n.8 Indanthrene Blue
Watercolour paper NOT 280gsm 38 x 28cm

additional exercise using all materials above:
I guess this is about going to have an x-ray

initially, n.10 again
quite dark this, reminds me of the shadow in ‘Rodin perhaps’ perhaps

n.10 value everything but not too much
two sides, the light and the dark perhaps
God’s worlds, no
God’s encouraging presence, no
God’s comforts perhaps
forts, upright constructions
not just lines, shapes
in Raw Umber, the actual colour of Forts, wood
but also shadow, umber
the shadow of Indanthrene, no
the shadow of white perhaps
white is part of the structure perhaps

n.5 thank God, God makes all things
but can be discomfort, forts falling
two sides again
in Burnt Umber, shadow
light and dark
no mention of truth here
not one better than the other
white not part of the shape here though
lines – broken lines
not shapes
so not two sides here
just shadow lines
not everything else

(apart from being a reminder I had not added that, the n.8 vanishing from the image in W 262 indicated to me the loss of my family)
treasure what is closest, intimate
I feel I don’t do that when publishing things that feel private to me
balance I guess
I leave that to God perhaps
this is in Blue, so oceans perhaps
not wavy lines but blue spaces
not large areas
of delight
not light
not light blue
not triangles
every little thing
but no specific shapes
not rounded, not square
not filling areas like water
given at the time perhaps

Raw Umber is forts, upright shapes
Burnt Umber is broken lines
Indanthrene is not given but vaguely ocean-like in small
