Sable round brushes, colours and paper:
n.3 Italian Venetian Red
n.7 Raw Umber
n.10 Terre Verte
Watercolour paper NOT 280gsm 38 x 28cm

additional exercise using all materials above:
entirely painted with guidance
four of the circles are actually in Terre Verte despite appearances

generally the colours chosen make me think of the notion ‘for the greater good’ balancing different needs
n.3 respect God
all things speak for God, peaks, no, not mountains this time
in Italian Venetian Red, warm earthy colour, round shapes like the planet Earth
because God wants it
when the painting is revealed, it may say why
n.7 work carefully in Raw Umber, in shadows
reminds me that God is painting this
the holding of the brush is in shadow
the painting itself is both light and in the light
this is the contrast, the dark necessary for the light to be light
Earth again, round, filling the seas round shapes, leaving the ‘C’ light and filling with dark shadow
like a waning crescent moon, left white perhaps
n.10 value everything but not too much, generally this makes me think of balancing trying to follow notions or routines but not holding on to them too much
letting God’s plan shine through, such as not keeping the notion of mountains no matter how appealing, or ideas about reciprocating
in Terre Verte which is Earth again, but green
red green and amber, a traffic light perhaps
God’s worlds wherein joy can live, green
God’s encouraging presence, amber, the light in relief
God’s comforts where hearts can feel at home, the hearth, warm, caring, without necessarily running around
three circles perhaps
